Carsington Water from Mickleover

The ride to Carsington Water from Mickleover is about 14 miles and is mostly on quiet undulating country lanes.

The Bluebell Inn stands on the Mickleover side of Kirk Langley.

Here we enter Kirk Langley with the A52 Ashbourne Road ahead.

A nice downhill run here.

Left at tee junction.

Fork right here.

Straight on to the Hulland Road.

Pass the sand quarry going under the conveyer.

Take a left here.

Fast downhill .................................

................. and climb to pass concrete factory on brow of hill.

Left at tee junction.

Pass the Black Horse Public House ...................

................ to
Hulland Ward village.

And follow signs to Carsington Water.

First sight of the water at the South end car park, which has ..............

................ toilets here. Entry at the rear of the building.

And see top of dam on left.
